BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES - DECEMBER 3, 2003

The gathering at Our Lady of Peace, Naragansett, R.I., was called to order by Acting Moderator, Frank Carpenter.

SCRIBE’S REPORT

Minutes from the spring read and accepted.

HISTORIAN

Nina as archivist, said the awareness of being historian has filtered into her head.

Tom Wintle will be the assistant archivist. He will be responsible for the old papers available at each session.

TREASURER

Treasurer, all expenses paid and depositss, 764$ plus what we get from the sale of the spirits. We are at a level we do not want to go below. Now there are no mailing expenses because of the web. If thre are web site expenses, historian costs, those should be paid by the group.

We have periodically thought about the cost of duplication - paper can go to people through email. Presenter responsible for copies to people with no email.

KEEPER OF THE SPIRITS

Spirit Keeper held the annual auction cum fire sale of spirits.

ABSENCES, RESIGNATIONS, NOMINATIONS

Absences were all excused:

Greg Chute and Martha Niebank on Sabbatical.

Martha and Paul were ill.

Lucinda family crisis....

Resignationa, Cynthia and Richard.

Rosemary accepted the invitation to join and was initiated . . . . Unh . . . . unh . . . . . unh . . . . . unh . . . . . unh . . . . . .unh!

One opening and one nomination : Rev. Marta Valentin who works at the UUA in the Latina/Latino and Hispanic Ministries and People of Colour Communities. Bill Gardiner spoke to the nomination. Susan SB also supported the nomination. Question moved and there was unanimous approval for inviting her.

Meeting is April 26-68, 2004. Always the last Monday of April.

Meeting is closed by the Moderator without censuring Josh for mentioning modernism in the chapel.
