BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES - April 30, 2008

By Bill Gardner (Thanks to Bill for taking over as scribe for this meeting as Brian Kopke was absent.)

 

 The minutes for the fall of 2007 meeting were approved.

  

Treasurer Bob Thayer reported that $1,400 have been paid in deposits to La Salette Center for the next two meetings. 
In addition there is $624 in our bank account.

  

Bill Gardiner, filling is as scribe for Brian Kopke reported on the following absences:

 

Nina Grey excused

Martha Niebank excused

Nannene Gowdy excused

Brian Kopke excused

Tracy Sprowls Jenks unexcused

Will Saunders unexcused.

 

Keith Goheen and Tony Lorenzen made a decision to join the group and were warmly welcomed with the Greenfield group whoop.

 

Susan Suchocki reported on the meeting planned for December 1, 2, and 3 of 2008

The theme is “Forgiveness in Our Nation, Our Communities, and in Our Congregations.”

 

We will be seeing a film called “Forgiveness”.

 

Marta Flanagan will reflect on the book Forgiveness: A Philosophical Exploration.

 

Susan Suchocki and Nanenne Gowdy will do a dialogue on how nations work for reconciliation.

 

Paul Ratzlaff will present a paper on “Healing and Reconciliation in our Congregations”.

Anita Farber Robertson will be the respondent.

 

Frank Hall will lead Change of Pace.

 

Chapel leaders are Keith Goheen, Tony Lorenzen, Frank Carpenter, and Mary Harrington.:

Article: To Hell and Back

 

The Emergent Church/ Religion and the Media is the theme for the meeting April 27, 28, and 29 in 2009.  Tony Lorenzen is the chair. Committee members are Rosemary Bray Mc Natt, Susan Suchocki, Amy Freedman, and Frank Carpenter. The meeting will be held at the La Salette Center.

 

 

Eros and Spirituality is the theme for the fall of 2009.  Joel Miller is program chair. Committee members are Anita Farber Robertson, Rosemarie Smurzynski, Carol Rosine, and Jim Sherblom.  The meeting will be held at the La Salette Center.
